Releasement
In early 2023, we introduced Releasement, a 6-month artist development course for the 16 -21 year old graduates of our Mic Drop programme (and those whose music is sufficiently developed). Releasement participants obtain the skills required to professionally create and release their original music onto streaming platforms.
The Church Studios have generously co-funded this year’s Mic Drop and Releasement programmes. Due to this partnership, Releasement participants have access to A&R development sessions with Paul Epworth and orchestral instrument recording sessions with his Grammy award-winning team. Also included in the Releasement programme are songwriting, performance and production sessions, all hosted by music industry professionals.

Releasement offers young artists the chance to propel their music in a safe and supported way at no cost to them. Giving young people who are marginalised or disadvantaged by their circumstances the opportunity to experience the joy of making music, as well as the commitment, dedication and 360-thinking needed to be a professional recording artist.
Releasement artists create a collaborative EP/Mixtape, music videos and host live performances of their original music and visit Sony Music Publishing UK to work with a professional Sony Publishing UK Producer and/or Songwriter.
We strongly encourage young people with a proven creative track record to apply for this programme. Don’t be shy, get in touch – please email: studio@avenues.org.uk
