The Avenues is an accredited London Living Wage employer. We commit to meeting or exceeding the Living Wage pay level for all staff aged over 18.
This year it is set at £11.95 an hour, significantly higher than the government’s national living wage of £9.50 an hour (previously known as national minimum wage).
This is not only the right thing to do and in line with our values, but we hope this strengthens our reputation as a socially responsible employer.
All our youth workers on Level 2 or above earn well above the Living Wage. We treat youth work as a serious profession and operate a payscale for our youth workers that incentivises them to continually learn and improve their skills. Those with higher youth work qualifications earn more, and (subject to funding) we provide free training to all our staff to develop their careers.
