Volunteer

We're always looking for a helping hand

Volunteers play an important part in supporting our staff and help to make sure we deliver the best services possible.

Who we need

Volunteers vary widely in age, expertise and in their roles but they share a common high standard in character, integrity and approach to their work.

We value their support and hope that, as well as contributing to our work, volunteers also benefit from their time here.

We particularly need help in our after-school and Saturday clubs, and with our social and fundraising activities.

Training and supervision

All volunteers work under the supervision of a permanent member of staff and receive training if necessary.

Volunteers with young people require a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, which we can organise. Applications are always welcome.

If you would like to get involved or want more information, please contact Operations Manager, Shivani Dodhia.

Marathon runners

The Avenues is a London Marathon Golden Bond holder, meaning we can offer a number of London Marathon places each year. What we ask in return is that participants commit to raising a meaningful amount for the charity through sponsorship.

To find out more, please send us an email answering the following questions:

• Is this your first marathon?
• Why do you want to run for The Avenues Youth Project?
• How do you plan on raising £2,000 – £3,000 for the charity?
• What completion time are you hoping for?
